五右衛門風呂というが、Wikipedia を見たところ、油風呂であった可能性もあるらしい。

といことは、油地獄あるいはアヒージョということか。資料としてあげられている『大航海時代叢書11 日本王国記・日欧文化比較』を見たい。日本語の資料には「釜煎り」ともあるらしいが、油も水もなしというのは推奨できる調理法とは言い難い。
